You can heal from your physical pain by embracing whole healing of mind, body and spirit. The body keeps the score and often the physical pain we have, houses emotional trauma that has been buried in the psyche. Through embracing all aspects of the self, we can truly heal and liberate ourselves from our suffering.
Holistic Healing
We may have physical pain, especially chronic pain, that can house emotional wounds or trauma. With my extensive work in occupational therapy, Pilates movement and certification in breathwork, I offer alternative services in the area of mind/body/spirit to facilitate healing of emotional and physical pain. Based on an initial screen of what type of exploration or healing is desired, tools will be selected accordingly.
Healing Modality Options
Breathwork
Breathwork is the use of guided active breathing that can move energy through the body, open your heart and release potentially stuck emotions. The intent is to relax the mind and reach buried emotional or physical blocks and bring them to the surface.
Mari/Mandala Assessments
The Mari/Mandala psychological assessments involve the use of symbols and color cards that reveal a person's strengths and blockages. The Mandala is a circular drawing completed, using a wide variety of color chalk/crayons. Based on the design drawn, it reveals an inner expression of a person's psych in a moment in time and can help express inner truth, bypassing the ego.
Pilates + therapeutic movement
Pilates along with other special equipment is utilized to improve strength, flexibility, balance and posture, while also enhancing mental awareness. Eye drills are incorporated throughout the exercises to integrate new neural pathway patterns in relation to movements which can decrease pain and improve balance.
How individual sessions work
Through our work together I guide you through self discovery to reclaim your inner strength and explore the edges to live in your full potential of who you really are. If physical pain is involved, in addition to addressing misalignment and weakness, we unmask the emotional attachment and trauma associated with it.
We may start with movement and physical exercise to get the body and energy moving, followed by a guided breathwork session. The breathwork will relax your mind and calm your nervous system and take you on a journey of deeper self discovery. It may bring up an emotional release that has been stored in your body.
As we process what you experienced, it is often beneficial to complete the mandala drawing and Mari assessment at this time, however, each of these modalities can be 30-45 minutes, so sometimes the drawings are scheduled for a different time.
The combination of these three tools generates emotional and physical responses that are brought to the surface, allowing for healing to take place and bringing through insightful self discoveries. Depending on what unfolds, subsequent sessions can be scheduled. Oftentimes clients go on to attend monthly breathwork group sessions either virtually or in person.
Breathwork
This active breathwork, developed by David Elliot, incorporates an ancient pranayama practice that uses an active 3 part breath that continues for 25-30 minutes, followed by a 10 minute relaxation. The intent is to relax the mind and reach buried emotional or physical blocks and bring them to the surface. This is a healing practice and can initially be uncomfortable, as things start surfacing and releasing. Prior to the active breathwork we will explore any specific area or surrounding circumstance in which to target the breathwork. You can message me with any questions you might have.

Mari-Mandala Assessments
These assessments use a Mari system of archetypal symbols and colors to help clarify core issues and identify strengths. Clients select cards and colors and the symbols and colors chosen provide a window into the areas of tension or attention that the unconscious is focusing on in their life at that time. It is often used for guidance if someone is stuck and frustrated with their psyche. Mari is based on Jungian archetypes and forty years of work and research by Joan Kellog. Mandala is Sanskrit for "magic circle" and in the most basic sense, is simply a circle.

Since ancient times in many cultures the mandala has had a powerful role in depicting, containing, and expressing the sacred. Mandalas come in many forms, but no matter the form, it offers a profound way to examine inner reality, to integrate that understanding with our physical selves, and to feel connected to the greater universe. It activates pathways between mind and body. You can explore a certain area of your life or receive general guidance for personal growth and transformation. An explored issue or surrounding circumstances are discussed, followed by the mari test and drawing. The rest of the session is dedicated to the interpretations and developing suggestions for change. A client will also receive a written integration of the Mari findings.
Pilates/Therapeutic Movement/Eye drills
With a specialty in chronic pain and my extensive education, I integrate a whole-body approach to assess and address the physical factors of pain, along with the emotional factors stored within the body from wounds and trauma. Where we carry physical pain, emotional wounds are usually collected in that area as well. I utilize pilates, suspension/sling equipment and eye drills to challenge movements to break up the pain pattern. Through the other modalities of the breathwork and Mari-Mandalas we out the emotional triggers, while the movements help to actively release it from the physical body.
